Leadership expectations and curriculum ownership
- Own the Art And Craft curriculum from kindergarten to class VIII, aligning with state guidelines.
- Design interdisciplinary projects that integrate visual arts with science, mathematics, and social studies.
- Mentor junior teachers and lead workshops on innovative craft techniques.
- Coordinate school art exhibitions, competitions, and community outreach events.
Core responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging lessons that foster creativity and critical thinking.
2. Assess student progress through portfolio reviews and project evaluations.
3. Develop resource materials, including lesson plans, activity sheets, and visual aids.
4. Maintain a well-stocked art studio with safe and sustainable materials.
5. Collaborate with school leadership on curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
6. Facilitate student participation in inter-school art festivals and exhibitions.
7. Conduct parent-teacher meetings to showcase student artwork and progress.
8. Stay updated on contemporary art education trends and incorporate best practices.
9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the art studio.
What you bring to the table
- Graduate degree with B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a school setting.
- Proficiency in TET or CTET preferred, though not mandatory.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of craft techniques and student works.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
