Job Title
PGT Physics Teacher – Full‑time position at Silasiguri Model High School, located in Darjeeling Pulbazar, Darjeeling, West Bengal.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the West Bengal Board curriculum for Physics to classes IX‑XII, preparing lesson plans that blend theory with practical experiments. Conduct laboratory sessions, maintain equipment, and assess student performance through tests, projects and viva‑voce. Participate in departmental meetings, school functions and occasional inter‑school science fairs held in the hills of Darjeeling.
Teaching Scope
The role involves teaching both senior secondary and higher secondary Physics, covering mechanics, electricity, magnetism, optics and modern physics. Prepare students for board examinations and encourage participation in regional Olympiads. Provide remedial support to students who need extra guidance, especially those from remote villages around Pulbazar.
Qualifications
Post‑graduate degree in Physics is essential. Must hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed certificate; TET/CTET qualification is preferred. Minimum two years of teaching experience in a recognized school setting is required.
Experience
At least 2 years of experience teaching Physics at the secondary level, preferably in a school environment similar to Siliguri Model High School. Experience with practical lab work and familiarity with the West Bengal education system will be advantageous.
Salary
The compensation package is Rs.25,000 - Rs.50,000 per month, payable as per school norms.
