The role involves planning outdoor sessions, coordinating with local farmers for study visits, and ensuring every child can identify the common birds and plants of Darjeeling Pulbazar. Three years of classroom experience is essential, and familiarity with the CBSE Evs curriculum is a practical advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver Evs lessons that connect textbook concepts to the immediate surroundings—tea bushes, pine forests, and monsoon clouds included.
Organize monthly field trips within Darjeeling Pulbazar to observe water sources, waste management practices, and biodiversity hotspots.
Create simple teaching aids from locally available materials like dried leaves, pebbles, and old maps for better retention.
Assess students through project work rather than only written tests, with a focus on group reports on local environmental issues.
Collaborate with the art teacher to stage small plays or posters on topics like plastic pollution in the hills.
Maintain a classroom library of Evs books in English and Nepali to encourage independent reading.
Attend weekly staff meetings to share observations and adjust lesson plans based on student feedback.
Prepare students for inter-school Evs quizzes and fairs that happen twice a year in the district.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) with Evs as a teaching subject.
Minimum three years of classroom experience, preferably in primary or middle sections.
Working knowledge of English and Nepali; Hindi is a plus for communication with parents.
No requirement for TET or CTET certification for this specific role.
