PRT Music Teacher Position at Mount Zion Academy, Kalimpong
Mount Zion Academy in Kalimpong seeks a dedicated PRT Music Teacher to lead instrumental and vocal music programs for students in grades VI to VIII. This role focuses on fostering musical creativity, cultural appreciation, and performance skills while aligning with the school’s holistic education approach.
The teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons in classical, folk, and contemporary music genres, ensuring age-appropriate instruction. Practical work includes conducting group and individual performances, maintaining a well-stocked music library, and collaborating with the arts faculty to integrate music across subjects. Assessment will emphasize oral evaluations, written compositions, and student presentations, with a strong emphasis on hands-on experimentation.
A graduate degree in Music Education or a related field is essential, with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification preferred. Two years of teaching experience, particularly in schools, is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, prior experience with state-level music curricula would be advantageous.
