Drummer Job in Hooghly, West Bengal | School Vacancy — Immediate requirement.
About This Role
Narayana School, Bally is inviting applications for the position of Drummer in Hooghly. This is a full-time non-teaching role requiring a candidate with proven experience in school administration and event coordination. The drummer will play a key role in supporting the school’s extracurricular programs and community engagement initiatives.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Lead and conduct the school band during official events, cultural programs, and national celebrations.
2. Organize and supervise weekly practice sessions for student drummers under guidance.
3. Coordinate with the music department to align drumming performances with school events.
4. Maintain and store all percussion instruments and equipment in proper condition.
5. Assist in preparing students for inter-school music competitions and festivals.
6. Provide on-the-spot guidance during school functions like Annual Day, Sports Day, and Independence Day.
7. Document attendance, progress, and repertoire of student drummers for reporting.
8. Collaborate with the school’s cultural coordinator to plan and execute annual music programs.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Music or Performing Arts is required. Minimum 6 years of experience in a school or institutional setting is mandatory. Proficiency in basic computer skills, especially MS Office, is necessary for scheduling and reporting.
Preferred Skills
Strong command of tabla, dholak, or other traditional percussion instruments. Experience in leading school bands or youth ensembles in West Bengal is preferred. Ability to teach basic rhythms to children aged 10–18 is an added advantage.
Perks and Pay
Monthly salary offered is between Rs.30,000 and Rs.50,000, commensurate with experience. The role comes with benefits such as PF, gratuity, and access to school facilities.
