Prepare comprehensive lesson plans that integrate practical experiments and real-world applications to enhance student understanding.
Planning and Curriculum Development
Contribute to curriculum planning by suggesting innovative teaching strategies that align with school and board exam standards. Stay updated on evolving syllabi and educational trends to refine lesson approaches. Collaborate with the chemistry department to develop unit-wise teaching resources, including worksheets, lab manuals, and assessment tools.
Student Support and Mentorship
Act as a mentor to chemistry students, offering guidance on academic performance and career aspirations in science-related fields. Foster a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore chemistry beyond the classroom. Provide individual feedback on assignments and lab reports to help students improve their problem-solving skills.
Assessment and Evaluation
Design and conduct regular assessments, including quizzes, projects, and practical exams, to evaluate students’ understanding of chemistry concepts. Use data from assessments to identify areas where students need additional support and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance as required by the school.
Coordination and Collaboration
Work closely with other PGTs and subject teachers to ensure seamless coordination in chemistry-related activities. Participate in departmental meetings to discuss teaching strategies, resource allocation, and student performance trends. Assist in organizing school events, science fairs, or workshops related to chemistry to promote interest among students.
Administrative Duties
Attend to administrative tasks such as maintaining grade books, updating student records, and ensuring compliance with school policies. Assist in preparing reports for parents and stakeholders regarding student achievements in chemistry. Actively participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and extracurricular activities to strengthen the school-community connection.
