Psychological Counsellor Job in Hooghly, West Bengal | School Vacancy — Immediate requirement
About This Role
Narayana School, Bally requires an experienced Psychological Counsellor to join its student support team. This is a full-time non-teaching role focused on mental health, behavioural guidance, and emotional wellness for students from Classes I to XII. The position involves collaborating with school leadership to create a nurturing environment where every learner can thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for students facing academic stress, peer pressure, or emotional challenges.
2. Design and implement awareness programs on mental health, cyber safety, and adolescent concerns in coordination with Narayana School, Bally.
3. Maintain confidential student records and prepare periodic reports for school management and parents.
4. Work closely with class coordinators and house mentors to identify at-risk students and recommend timely interventions.
5. Organize workshops for teachers and parents on child psychology and effective communication strategies.
6. Provide crisis intervention support during exam seasons or after any distressing school incidents.
7. Participate in school assemblies and house meetings to promote a positive school culture.
8. Recommend referral pathways to external professionals when specialized care is needed.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Child Development with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Strong computer skills are essential for maintaining digital records and preparing reports. Familiarity with child protection policies and ethical guidelines in counselling is preferred.
