PGT English Teacher Job in Howrah, West Bengal | School Recruitment
Responsibilities
1. Design and deliver PGT level English curriculum aligned with state board standards for classes IX‑XII.
2. Conduct interactive classroom sessions that improve reading, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills.
3. Prepare lesson plans, assignments and assessments that cater to diverse learner needs in Howrah.
4. Evaluate student performance through periodic tests, projects and provide constructive feedback.
5. Organize co‑curricular activities such as debates, dramatics and creative writing workshops.
6. Mentor junior teachers and assist in departmental planning at Agrasain Boys School.
7. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and classroom activities as per school policy.
8. Participate in parent‑teacher meetings and communicate student progress effectively.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of teaching experience at the PGT level in an Indian school setting.
- Post‑graduate degree in English or related discipline.
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory; TET/CTET qualification preferred.
- Strong command of English language, both written and spoken, with ability to teach literature and grammar.
- Familiarity with the educational environment of Bally Jagachha, Howrah and ability to relate to local student demographics.
Salary
Rs.40,000 - Rs.70,000 per month, payable as per school norms.
