About This Role (senior Bengali department role)

Key Responsibilities (curriculum ownership, mentoring junior staff, board results)
As the head of our Bengali department at Narayana School in Bally Jagachha, Howrah, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing an effective Bengali curriculum that aligns with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) guidelines
- Mentoring and guiding junior staff members to ensure they deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences
- Monitoring and evaluating student progress and achievement in Bengali, with a focus on improving board results
- Maintaining accurate records of student performance and progress
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to education
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve student engagement and motivation
- Collaborating with colleagues to plan and deliver in-service training programs
- Representing the school at various educational forums and events
- Overseeing the implementation of technology-enhanced learning initiatives in the Bengali department
- Ensuring that all teaching and learning materials are up-to-date and relevant to the needs of our students.
Eligibility Criteria (B.Ed plus 5 years, NET or SET preferred)
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Bengali or a related field
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of academic excellence
- NET or SET qualification in Bengali (preferably) or a related subject
- Strong knowledge of Bengali language and literature, with the ability to teach up to Class 10 level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
