PGT Mathematics Teacher Position at Mount Zion School, Kalimpong
Mount Zion School invites applications for the role of a PGT Mathematics Teacher based in Gorubathan, Kalimpong. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of Rs. 28,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month for a qualified and experienced educator.
Teaching Responsibilities
Develop and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and state board standards. Ensure engaging and interactive teaching methods that cater to diverse student learning needs. Prepare and update syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching aids to enhance conceptual understanding.
Curriculum and Assessment
Oversee the implementation of the mathematics program, including unit planning and assessment strategies. Design and administer regular and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with the academic team to refine teaching approaches based on assessment data.
Student Support and Mentorship
Act as a mentor to junior faculty and students, providing guidance on academic and extracurricular activities. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore mathematical concepts critically. Assist in organizing math-related clubs, competitions, or workshops to promote interest and skill development.
Administrative and Coordination Tasks
Participate in school-wide planning meetings to align mathematics teaching with broader educational goals. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and progress reports as required. Support administrative tasks related to curriculum coordination, including liaising with other departments and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Mathematics with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Four years of relevant teaching experience at the secondary or senior secondary level is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly beneficial for this role.
