About This Role
As a senior-level mathematics educator at Narayana School Kalimpong 12th Mile, you will have the opportunity to take on a leadership role in shaping the mathematics department's curriculum and academic performance. Reporting directly to the Principal, you will be responsible for guiding the school's mathematics faculty and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Develop and implement curriculum for mathematics at all levels, in collaboration with the Principal and other senior teachers.
- Mentor and support junior staff members in their teaching practice and professional development.
- Analyze and interpret board examination results to inform teaching strategies and improve student outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver staff development programs.
- Provide guidance on teaching methods and resources to improve student engagement and understanding.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment in the mathematics department.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local educational institutions and organizations to promote the school's mathematics programs.
- Oversee the administration of mathematics-related extracurricular activities, such as math clubs and competitions.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate student learning and progress.
- Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement school-wide policies and procedures related to mathematics education.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have a graduate degree in mathematics or a related field, a B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. degree, and at least 5 years of teaching experience. A UGC-NET or SET qualification is preferred, but not required.
