PRT Mathematics Teacher – Mount Zion School, Gorubathan, Kalimpong
Mount Zion School in Gorubathan, Kalimpong, West Bengal is looking for a full‑time PRT Mathematics Teacher. The role involves delivering the primary mathematics curriculum to classes in a vibrant school environment.
Daily responsibilities
- Conduct engaging mathematics lessons for primary sections, ensuring concepts are taught clearly and interactively.
- Assess student understanding through oral questioning, worksheets and class activities, providing immediate feedback.
- Maintain classroom discipline and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Record attendance and update daily lesson logs as per school policy.
Regular responsibilities across the academic cycle
- Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with the state syllabus and school curriculum, incorporating visual aids and practical examples.
- Conduct periodic quizzes and unit tests, marking them promptly and communicating results to parents.
- Participate in weekly department meetings and collaborative planning sessions with fellow teachers.
- Provide remedial support to students who need additional help, organizing small group or one‑on‑one sessions.
Periodic responsibilities
- Assist in the organization of termly mathematics exhibitions, competitions and parent‑teacher meetings.
- Contribute to the preparation of term reports, evaluating student progress against learning objectives.
- Attend professional development workshops and school events as required.
Qualification and experience
- Graduate degree with B.Ed or D.El.Ed certification.
- Minimum four years of teaching experience in primary mathematics.
- Preference given to candidates who have cleared TET/CTET, though it is not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for fostering mathematical curiosity among young learners.
Salary and location
- Salary: Rs.16,000 – Rs.29,000 per month, commensurate with experience.
