Postgraduate Bengali Teacher Position at Convent of Our Lady of Providence Girls High School
The Convent of Our Lady of Providence Girls High School in Kankurgachi, Kolkata, seeks a dedicated Postgraduate Bengali Teacher to lead language instruction in senior classes. This role involves shaping students’ literary, linguistic, and cultural understanding while fostering a nurturing academic environment. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Bengali grammar, literature, and pedagogy to inspire creativity and critical thinking among students.
Daily Responsibilities
Plan and conduct engaging Bengali language classes, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards. Prepare lesson plans that integrate reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and oral evaluations to reinforce learning. Maintain organized classroom resources, including textbooks, worksheets, and multimedia materials.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and deliver unit-wise assessments to evaluate students’ comprehension and fluency in Bengali. Collaborate with the subject coordinator to refine teaching strategies and adapt lessons for diverse learning needs. Attend departmental meetings to discuss pedagogical approaches and share best practices. Ensure students meet minimum academic benchmarks and provide constructive feedback on their work.
Periodic Responsibilities
Participate in term-end examinations and evaluations to grade assignments and conduct oral tests. Contribute to school events, such as Bengali poetry recitals, essay competitions, or cultural festivals, to promote the subject’s relevance. Review and update teaching materials based on student feedback and curriculum updates.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Bengali or a related discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in Bengali or language education, is required. While TET/CTET is not mandatory, experience in state-level teaching assessments is beneficial. Strong communication skills in Bengali and English are essential.
Salary and Location
The selected candidate will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs.40,000 to Rs.70,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is based in Kankurgachi, Kolkata, West Bengal, with the school providing necessary infrastructure and support.
