Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Collaborate with the geography department to integrate interdisciplinary learning, such as connecting geography with social studies or environmental science. Organize field trips and outdoor learning activities to provide real-world context to classroom topics, like climate studies or urban planning. Participate in departmental meetings to discuss teaching strategies, curriculum updates, and student performance trends. Ensure compliance with school policies on assessment standards and student evaluation practices.
Periodic Responsibilities
Coordinate with the school’s extracurricular programs to promote geography-related clubs or competitions, such as model-making or debate teams. Review and update teaching materials periodically to incorporate new research, technological advancements, or evolving educational trends in geography. Attend professional development workshops or training sessions related to geography education, if available, to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Qualification and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Geography or a related field, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. A TET/CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory. At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in geography or a relevant subject, is essential. Strong communication skills, adaptability to diverse student needs, and a passion for fostering curiosity about the world are key.
