Job Description
TGT Chemistry Teacher Job in Kolkata, West Bengal | School Recruitment
Work Culture
Narayana School Park Circus runs on a rhythm set by teachers who treat every class as a shared exploration rather than a lecture. The staff room on Circus Avenue hums with lesson swaps over cut chai and quick experiments scribbled on the back of old question papers. Senior chemistry teachers mentor newcomers, and the culture leans toward co-teaching rather than solo performance.
Role Summary
The TGT Chemistry Teacher will anchor the middle-school chemistry stream at Narayana School Park Circus, converting syllabus topics into engaging lab sessions and concept cartoons. The role demands a post-graduate degree, three years of verified classroom experience, and comfort with the fast-paced ICSE/ISC pattern followed in the school.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver TGT Chemistry lessons aligned to the ICSE/ISC syllabus, including weekly practicals that fit within the Circus Avenue lab schedule.
Create low-cost demonstration kits from local market supplies to illustrate redox, electrochemistry, and mole concepts for middle-school learners.
Assess and return weekly class tests within 48 hours, uploading marks on the school ERP used across Park Circus branches.
Collaborate with the TGT Math and Biology teams to run quarterly inter-house science fairs on the main playground.
Attend monthly curriculum review meetings in the staff room and upload revised worksheets to the shared Google drive before the next cycle.
Mentor two student monitors who assist during lab sessions and help maintain chemical inventory in the side cupboard.
Organize parent-teacher meetings on the third Saturday of every month to explain the chemistry portion of the upcoming semester exams.
Participate in the annual science exhibition by guiding a group of Grade VIII students to build a working model using easily available chemicals.
Who Can Apply
Post-graduates in Chemistry with a minimum of three years of TGT teaching experience in ICSE/ISC or equivalent boards. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory; TET/CTET will be preferred but not mandatory. Candidates who have taught middle-school chemistry in Kolkata’s south-central zones will have an edge.
Perks and Pay
Salary band: Rs.25,000 – Rs.45,000 per month, paid on the 1st of every month via bank transfer. School transport from key south Kolkata points is provided. In-house medical reimbursement up to Rs.12,000 per annum and subsidized canteen meals at the Circus Avenue campus.
