TGT Chemistry Teacher Job in Kolkata, West Bengal | School Recruitment
The reality of this role
Teaching Chemistry to Classes IX‑XII at The Crescent School Kolkata means preparing lessons that connect theory with everyday examples, managing lab sessions safely, and grading assignments promptly. You will interact with students during breaks on Circus Avenue, helping them with doubts and encouraging curiosity. The day includes regular coordination with senior staff and occasional parent meetings.
What you will actually do
- Design and deliver NCERT‑aligned Chemistry lessons for secondary and senior secondary sections.
- Conduct practical lab experiments, ensure safety protocols, and maintain equipment.
- Prepare weekly quizzes, unit tests and term examinations, and evaluate answer scripts.
- Provide extra‑tutoring or remedial classes for students who need additional support.
- Update class registers, attendance and maintain accurate records of lab consumables.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school functions and inter‑school science fairs.
- Contribute to the development of study materials and revision notes for board exams.
- Mentor junior teachers and assist in organising Chemistry clubs or workshops.
Who can do this job
Candidates must hold a post‑graduate degree in Chemistry with B.Ed or D.El.Ed. A valid TET/CTET is preferred. Minimum four years of teaching experience in a school setting is required.
