The Bss School invites a TGT English Teacher to plan, deliver, and assess English lessons for Grades 6 to 10. You will design engaging activities that build vocabulary, grammar, and critical reading skills across mixed-ability groups. Who You Will Teach
Students arrive from varied linguistic and cultural backgrounds in Kankurgachi. Your English Teaching Job in Kolkata will serve learners preparing for board exams as well as those still mastering basic communication. Differentiated tasks and small-group support help each student move forward at their own pace.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned to CBSE standards and school themes.
Use stories, poems, and debates to strengthen listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Track progress through informal assessments, portfolios, and periodic tests.
Implement inclusive strategies such as peer tutoring, visual aids, and simplified texts.
Collaborate with special educators to adapt materials for students with learning differences.
Organize morning assembly presentations and inter-house English recitation competitions.
Maintain student portfolios, attendance registers, and subject resource files.
Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher interactions, and school events.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in English from a recognized university.
B.Ed or D.El.Ed with English as a teaching subject.
Minimum 2 years of classroom experience in Grades 6–10.
TET/CTET preferred but not mandatory.
Fluency in English and basic Bengali or Hindi for local communication.
