Daily Responsibilities
Plan and conduct daily physical education classes, ensuring activities align with the school’s curriculum and student abilities. Monitor student participation, safety, and adherence to rules during games and drills. Collaborate with class teachers to integrate physical education into lesson plans and extracurricular events. Maintain organized records of student progress, attendance, and participation in sports events.
Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and update lesson plans for various levels, incorporating age-appropriate sports, fitness routines, and team-building exercises. Supervise school sports events, tournaments, and inter-house competitions to foster team spirit and healthy competition. Work with the school administration to ensure compliance with health and safety protocols in physical education settings. Participate in school-wide programs, such as health awareness campaigns and wellness initiatives.
Periodic Responsibilities
Assess student performance in physical activities through evaluations, quizzes, and practical demonstrations. Represent the school in external sports events or competitions, if applicable, and contribute to team strategies. Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to discuss students’ progress in physical education and address any concerns related to participation or behavior.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with at least two years of teaching experience in physical education. A TET or CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of sports science, fitness training, and curriculum-based physical education methods is essential. Experience in managing diverse student groups and maintaining a positive classroom environment is highly valued.
Salary and Location
