The PGT History Teacher will oversee the teaching of history at the senior secondary level, ensuring alignment with state syllabi and national education standards. The role also includes mentoring students, preparing them for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and state-level entrance tests where history is a core subject.
Core duties include delivering lectures, designing lesson plans, and maintaining student records. The teacher will also participate in extracurricular activities such as debates, cultural fests, and quiz competitions, where historical themes often take center stage. Regular feedback sessions with students will help identify learning gaps and tailor instruction accordingly.
A postgraduate degree in History with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory. Two years of teaching experience in history or related subjects is preferred. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be highly advantageous. Candidates with a strong command of English and local languages will be preferred, as communication skills are vital for engaging diverse student backgrounds.
