Job Description
PGT Mathematics Teacher Job in Nadia, West Bengal | School Recruitment
What It Is Like Here
At Chatterjee Noble School, the Mathematics department is known for its quiet intensity and shared curiosity. Teachers here often stay back after classes to solve problems on the whiteboard with students who want that extra push. The school’s corridors in Ranaghat I buzz with the sound of mental math drills during breaks, and the staff room is where lesson plans are swapped over cups of tea from the canteen stall just outside.
Role Summary
Chatterjee Noble School is looking for a Post Graduate Trained Mathematics Teacher to strengthen the senior secondary wing. The role involves delivering concept-rich lessons, designing problem sets that connect daily life with abstract theory, and guiding students toward competitive exams like JEE and Olympiads.
What You Will Do
Plan and teach Mathematics classes for Classes 11 and 12 using NCERT and reference books aligned to the West Bengal curriculum.
Create weekly problem-solving worksheets that blend algebra, calculus, and coordinate geometry with local examples—think railway timetables for time-speed-distance or market rates for percentages.
Conduct after-school doubt-clearing sessions for students aiming for engineering entrance tests; many from Ranaghat I target nearby colleges in Kalyani and Krishnanagar.
Organize monthly Math Fairs where students showcase puzzles, models, and real-world applications to parents and peers.
Collaborate with the Physics and Chemistry teams to co-design interdisciplinary projects—past topics included graphing projectile motion and calculating calorific values.
Maintain digital attendance and assignment records on the school ERP; update the portal every Friday evening.
Attend subject-specific cluster meetings with other Nadia schools to share resources and moderation strategies.
Participate in annual curriculum reviews and textbook selection panels with the academic coordinator.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Mathematics with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) with Mathematics as a teaching subject.
Three years of full-time Mathematics teaching experience in Classes 11–12.
Familiarity with West Bengal Board syllabus and CBSE question patterns is an advantage.
Salary and Benefits
Monthly gross salary: Rs.35,000 – Rs.55,000, based on experience and interview performance.
In addition to salary, Chatterjee Noble School provides:
- Government-approved provident fund contribution
- Annual festival bonus equivalent to one month’s salary
- Subsidized meals in the school canteen
- Reimbursement for approved stationery and teaching aids up to Rs.2,000 per year
