- Lead the History department and mentor junior staff.
- Design and update the History syllabus in line with West Bengal Board guidelines.
- Organize inter‑school history debates and heritage walks for students.

Core responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom sessions for classes IX to XII covering Ancient, Medieval and Modern India.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets and multimedia presentations that reflect local cultural contexts.
- Conduct periodic formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grade registers as per school policy.
- Guide students for History Olympiads and state‑level quiz competitions.
- Supervise project work, field trips to museums and historical sites in West Bengal.
- Participate in parent‑teacher meetings to discuss student progress.
- Contribute to school events such as cultural festivals and heritage days.
- Stay updated with recent historiography and integrate relevant research into teaching.
What you bring to the table
- Post‑graduate degree in History with B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level.
- TET/CTET qualification is preferred and will be an added advantage.
