The reality of this role
Burnpur Riverside School in Jamuria expects a PGT Mathematics Teacher to manage a class of 30–35 students daily. You will prepare lesson plans, conduct interactive lessons, and assess student progress. Classroom management and timely grading are part of the routine.
What you will actually do
1. Deliver engaging lessons in Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus for classes IX to XII.
2. Design worksheets and practical activities that link theory to real‑world problems.
3. Use digital tools like GeoGebra and PowerPoint to illustrate complex concepts.
4. Conduct formative and summative assessments, including quizzes and mid‑term exams.
5. Provide individual feedback and hold remedial sessions for students needing extra help.
6. Coordinate with the school’s academic committee to align curriculum with state standards.
7. Participate in parent‑teacher meetings to discuss student performance.
8. Mentor junior teachers and interns in effective teaching strategies.
Who can do this job
Post‑graduate degree in Mathematics or a related field, B.Ed or D.El.Ed required. Minimum of two years teaching experience in a school setting. TET/CTET preferred but not mandatory.
