Role Summary

What You Will Do
Teach History to classes VI to X following the CBSE curriculum and Narayana School Bardhaman’s academic calendar. Prepare students for board examinations with structured revision plans, sample papers, and periodic assessments. Lead the History department, set lesson plans, and align teaching with the school’s yearly academic calendar. Conduct regular parent-teacher interactions to update families on student progress and subject-specific guidance. Organize History-related events such as quiz competitions, essay writing, and heritage walks to enhance classroom learning. Mentor junior faculty in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement techniques. Integrate digital tools and smart classes to make historical timelines, maps, and case studies more engaging. Coordinate with other departments to support interdisciplinary projects like social science exhibitions and cultural fests.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in History from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks. B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification mandatory for TGT roles. Minimum 4 years of teaching experience in History at the secondary level in a school environment. TET or CTET certification preferred for eligibility in West Bengal schools. Familiarity with CBSE History syllabus and assessment patterns is necessary.
