Job Description
PGT Physical Education Teacher Job in Purba Medinipur, West Bengal | School Recruitment
Physical Education at Disari Public School is more than just games—it’s a foundation for lifelong fitness, discipline, and teamwork. Students here learn sportsmanship, physical coordination, and the joy of movement through structured activities, ensuring they grow both mentally and physically. A strong PE curriculum helps reduce sedentary lifestyles and builds resilience, making it essential for holistic education.
At Disari Public School, we believe in engaging students through hands-on learning. Your approach should blend traditional drills with modern techniques, adapting to different skill levels while fostering a love for activity. Emphasize sports like cricket, basketball, and track events, which are popular in West Bengal, while also introducing lesser-known games like Kabaddi and traditional West Bengal sports. Encourage teamwork and fair play, reinforcing values through competition.
Your duties will include designing and implementing daily PE lessons, from basic drills to competitive events. Organize inter-house sports tournaments, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Teach fundamental techniques in swimming, athletics, and field events, aligning with school standards. Supervise extracurricular sports clubs and guide students in improving performance. Maintain records of student progress and participation. Collaborate with the school’s physical education coordinator to update curricula. Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and used safely.
A strong background in Physical Education is required, ideally with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree. Experience in teaching sports at the secondary level is a plus. Knowledge of TET/CTET guidelines is beneficial but not mandatory. Familiarity with local sports and West Bengal’s school sports culture will be an asset.
A great Physical Education teacher must be energetic, patient, and passionate about sports. Strong communication skills are vital to explain techniques clearly. Adaptability to diverse student abilities is key. Physical stamina and the ability to inspire young athletes are non-negotiable. A background in coaching or sports science can enhance your impact.
The PGT Physical Education Teacher at Disari Public School will receive a competitive salary of Rs.35,000 to Rs.60,000 per month, along with standard benefits. Your role will shape young minds and bodies, making it a rewarding career choice.
To apply, send your resume and relevant teaching experience to the school’s HR department. Ensure your application highlights your passion for Physical Education and your ability to engage students effectively.
