Haldia Lions Model School | West Bengal seeks a dedicated PRT Sanskrit Teacher to join their esteemed faculty in teaching Sanskrit to students in Sutahata, Purba Medinipur. This role is ideal for someone passionate about preserving and teaching the rich cultural heritage of India through the ancient language of Sanskrit.
Responsibilities
Teach Sanskrit as a core subject in the school curriculum, ensuring alignment with the latest syllabus and educational standards. Develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate traditional texts, grammar, and cultural significance, making the subject accessible to students. Conduct regular classroom activities, including group discussions, storytelling, and interactive exercises to enhance learning.
Prepare and evaluate students’ assignments, quizzes, and projects to assess their understanding and progress in Sanskrit. Collaborate with the school management to integrate Sanskrit teachings with broader academic goals, such as promoting values of respect for heritage and wisdom. Participate in school events, including cultural fests and competitions, to showcase Sanskrit knowledge and foster a deeper appreciation for the language among students.
Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment and ensure all teaching materials, including textbooks, workbooks, and audio-visual aids, are readily available. Stay updated on educational trends and teaching methodologies to continuously improve the quality of Sanskrit instruction. Support the school’s efforts in extracurricular activities, such as debates, poetry recitals, and workshops, where Sanskrit can be prominently featured.
Qualification
Hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) as mandatory qualifications for the role. Possession of the TET or CTET certificate is highly preferred to ensure eligibility for teaching positions in West Bengal. A degree in Sanskrit or related humanities stream is an added advantage, though not strictly necessary.
Experience
A minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting, is required. Experience in teaching Sanskrit to students at the primary or upper primary level is particularly valuable. Familiarity with local educational practices and curriculum frameworks in West Bengal will be beneficial.
