Smart Future Academy in Uttar Dinajpur is looking for an experienced PGT History Teacher to join their team and inspire students with engaging lessons on India’s rich cultural and political heritage. The role demands passion for teaching, deep knowledge of modern and contemporary history, and the ability to make complex topics accessible to young learners.
Responsibilities include preparing and delivering well-structured lesson plans aligned with the West Bengal curriculum, covering topics like ancient Indian civilizations, colonial rule, independence movements, and post-independence history. You will conduct daily classes, maintain student engagement through interactive discussions, and assess understanding through practical assignments, quizzes, and projects. Regular classroom observations by Smart Future Academy’s faculty will be part of your professional growth.
Developing supplementary study materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, video clips, and interactive maps, to enhance learning experiences is essential. You will also guide students in research projects, encouraging them to explore primary sources like historical texts, newspapers, and oral histories. Collaborate with the principal and other teachers to design unit-wise assessments, ensuring fair evaluation standards.
Teaching students from Class 9 to 12, you must adapt teaching methods to cater to diverse learning abilities while fostering critical thinking about historical events. Participate in faculty meetings to discuss curriculum updates and share innovative teaching strategies with peers. Maintain a well-organized classroom with necessary resources, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
Engage with parents through regular communication, sharing academic progress and addressing concerns about their children’s historical understanding. Attend teacher training workshops organized by Smart Future Academy to stay updated on pedagogical best practices. Represent the school at local educational forums or history-related events if required.
Ensure compliance with school policies regarding attendance, discipline, and professional conduct. Act as a mentor to junior teachers if assigned, sharing insights gained from years of experience. Keep records of student performance, attendance, and disciplinary actions as per academic guidelines.
Smart Future Academy offers a competitive salary of Rs.50,000 to Rs.70,000 per month for the PGT History Teacher position in Uttar Dinajpur. To qualify, you must hold a postgraduate degree in History or a related field, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. Three years of teaching experience in schools, preferably in History, is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is preferred, it is not mandatory for this role.
