About My Dolphin Public School Batergam

My Dolphin Public School Batergam sits on the outskirts of Kupwara town in the heart of Jammu and Kashmir, just a short walk from the bustling market lane near the Batergam bus stand. The campus is modest but well‑maintained, with a playground that doubles as a gathering place for school events and a library that has been steadily growing its collection of textbooks and reference books. The administration is approachable; the principal holds a weekly open‑door session where teachers can discuss curriculum plans, classroom challenges or ideas for extracurricular activities. There is a genuine sense that the staff’s input matters, and decisions about resources or scheduling are often made after consulting the teachers who will implement them.

The students come from a mix of families in Kupwara and the surrounding villages, many of whom travel a considerable distance each day to attend. They are eager to learn, but the reality of limited exposure to urban educational settings means that they often need extra guidance in both language and critical thinking skills. Class sizes hover around thirty, which allows for personal interaction while still presenting the logistical realities of a public school. Parents are involved, frequently visiting the school to discuss progress and to volunteer during cultural programs, creating a community atmosphere that extends beyond the classroom walls.

Academically the school follows the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JAC) syllabus, and the teaching staff is encouraged to blend the prescribed curriculum with practical, hands‑on projects that relate to the students’ surroundings. Science labs have been upgraded in the past two years, and there is a growing emphasis on digital literacy, with computer rooms equipped for basic coding and internet research. The school’s timetable allows for co‑curricular activities such as sports, music and local arts, giving teachers the chance to mentor students in areas that go beyond the textbook.
