PRT Music Teacher Job in Pampore, Pulwama
Teaching music to students in grades four through eight at Birla Open Minds International School involves guiding their musical development through interactive lessons, practical instruments, and creative projects. The role focuses on making music education engaging and accessible, blending theory with hands-on practice. You will shape young learners’ understanding of rhythm, melody, and composition while fostering a love for music through group activities and individual feedback.
The scope of this position includes designing lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum while adapting to diverse learning styles. Daily tasks include conducting class sessions, leading group performances, and assisting in extracurricular music events like concerts and workshops. Your work will also involve preparing students for school-wide music festivals and collaborating with other teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects.
Core academic duties include teaching foundational music concepts such as scales, chords, and musical notation. You will use a mix of traditional and modern teaching methods, including digital tools, to keep lessons dynamic. Students will practice playing instruments like keyboards, guitars, or percussion, with a focus on building technical skills and artistic expression. Your role also includes mentoring students who may need extra support to improve their musical confidence and performance abilities.
Assessment and planning duties are integral to this role. You will evaluate students through regular practice checks, small group performances, and written assignments to track progress. Lesson planning involves creating structured yet flexible activities that encourage creativity while ensuring key learning objectives are met. Feedback sessions will help students refine their skills and set personal musical goals.
To qualify for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) along with a graduate degree in music or a related field. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, prior teaching experience in music or a related subject is beneficial. A minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience is preferred, though exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong musical skills and pedagogical aptitude.
This full-time position offers a monthly salary of Rs.15,000 to Rs.30,000, depending on qualifications and performance. Located in Pampore, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, the role provides a supportive environment for professional growth while contributing to a vibrant educational community.
