Delhi Public School Srinagar is situated in the heart of Srinagar city, serving students from the local community as well as from various other parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Our school provides an ideal setting for students to learn and grow, with its lush green surroundings and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. This peaceful atmosphere helps our students stay focused on their studies and extracurricular activities.
The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which ensures that our students receive a well-rounded education and are well-prepared for the challenges of higher education and the workforce. Our affiliation with the CBSE allows us to follow a curriculum that is recognized and respected not only in India but also around the world.
The school was founded by the D.P. Dhar Memorial Trust, which was established by the family and friends of Late Shri D.P. Dhar. He was a public figure of great distinction who played an important role in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the union cabinet. He also had diplomatic assignments in the then U.S.S.R, where he was instrumental in negotiating the historic Indo-Soviet Friendship Treaty. Late Shri D.P. Dhar was a strong advocate of integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India, and he believed that education was a key instrument in achieving this goal.
Our school, which was established in 2003, is committed to providing an excellent education to our students. We have a strong focus on academic achievement, but we also recognize the importance of extracurricular activities and personal development. Our students have access to a range of facilities, including computer rooms, a library, an audio-visual hall, and sports facilities. We also have a medical centre on campus, which provides medical care to our students and is staffed by qualified doctors.
