Cambridge Institute Of Technology invites applications for the position of Associate Professor - Operating Systems. This full-time role is based in Rahe, Ranchi, Jharkhand. What You Will Do
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Operating Systems, including theory and lab components. Develop and update course materials aligned with current industry standards and academic rigor. Conduct tutorials, assignments, and examinations for B.Tech and M.Tech students.
Prepare and deliver lectures on process management, memory management, file systems, and distributed operating systems. Guide students in practical sessions using Linux, Windows, and embedded systems environments. Supervise minor and major projects in operating systems design and implementation.
Assess student performance through quizzes, mid-semester, and end-semester evaluations. Mentor students in academic and career planning, especially in placement preparation. Engage in departmental meetings and curriculum development initiatives.
Master Level Teaching
At the master’s level, teach advanced courses such as Real-Time Operating Systems, Advanced Unix Programming, and OS Security. Guide M.Tech scholars in thesis work on topics like kernel development, virtualization, and system software innovation.
Facilitate research in operating systems by identifying emerging areas like containerization, microkernels, and IoT-based OS solutions. Encourage students to publish findings in peer-reviewed conferences and journals. Collaborate with industry partners for live projects and internships.
Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology with a minimum of 55% marks. NET/SLET qualified candidates are preferred if Ph.D. is not completed. At least two years of teaching experience at the university level is required.
Candidates must have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals on operating systems or related areas. Experience with funded research projects or industry collaborations is desirable. Familiarity with UGC norms for faculty recruitment and API scoring is essential.
