Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and consumables before each session.
- Maintain inventory of chemicals, reagents, and safety gear, and place orders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, conduct regular checks, and report any hazards.
- Clean, calibrate, and service laboratory instruments to keep them in optimal condition.
- Assist students and staff with the proper use of lab apparatus during experiments.
- Record and update lab usage logs, maintenance schedules, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with school administration for scheduling lab sessions and managing space allocation.
- Support waste disposal and adhere to environmental regulations for hazardous materials.
Qualification
Must Have
- Graduate degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling laboratory operations in an educational setting.
Good to Have
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed is not required but knowledge of school environments is beneficial.
- TET/CTET certification preferred for understanding of school safety standards.
Skills
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Good knowledge of laboratory safety norms and equipment handling.
- Ability to communicate clearly with students, teachers and support staff.
- Basic computer skills for inventory and reporting.
- Attention to detail and problem‑solving attitude.
Salary and location
The role offers a monthly salary of Rs.30,000 – Rs.40,000. The position is based in Namkum, Ranchi, Jharkhand, with a full‑time employment contract.
