Job Description
Job Title: PRT Mathematics Teacher
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven PRT Mathematics teacher to join our team at a Tier 2 general school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching mathematics and a proven track record of driving student achievement.
Primary Duties:
- Teach mathematics to students in the pre-primary and lower primary grades
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
- Maintain a well-organized and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching methods
Performance Expectations (Outcome Expectations):
- Achieve a minimum of 80% student progress in mathematics as measured by internal assessments
- Maintain a student attendance rate of 95% or higher throughout the academic year
- Develop and implement a classroom management plan that promotes positive student behavior and reduces disruptions
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that improve student achievement in mathematics
Professional Development:
- Participate in regular training and professional development sessions to improve teaching skills and stay up-to-date on curriculum developments
- Attend department meetings and contribute to the development of mathematics curriculum and resources
- Engage in peer observation and coaching to improve teaching practice
- Pursue additional qualifications or certifications in mathematics education
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualification in mathematics or a related field
- 2 years of teaching experience in a Tier 2 general school
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Classroom Environment:
