Role Summary
Orchids The International School is looking for a dynamic Theatre Teacher to lead our performing arts department in Hungund, Bagalakote. This is a full-time leadership role for someone with at least 3 years of experience in theatre administration and production. The Theatre Teacher will oversee all aspects of school theatre activities, from script selection to final performance.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Plan, organize, and conduct weekly theatre workshops for students in grades 6 to 12.
2. Direct and produce at least two major school productions each academic year.
3. Manage the school’s annual theatre festival, coordinating with local artists and schools.
4. Maintain the theatre department’s budget, equipment, and props inventory.
5. Train student actors in voice modulation, stage movement, and character development.
6. Collaborate with the art and music departments to integrate performance arts.
7. Document all productions with photographs and short video clips for school records.
8. Liaise with parents and external agencies for sponsorship and support.
Who Can Apply
Graduates in Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, or related fields may apply. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree is mandatory. Prior experience in school theatre management is preferred. Basic computer proficiency in MS Office and video editing tools is required.
