About This Role
This is a senior position in the Hindi department at New Carmel School, Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka. What You Will Do
Plan, deliver, and assess the Hindi curriculum for grades 6 to 10, ensuring alignment with CBSE guidelines. Monitor student progress through periodic assessments and provide targeted interventions for weaker learners. Conduct weekly department meetings to review lesson plans and share best teaching practices among staff.
Design and implement remedial sessions for students struggling with grammar, comprehension, or literature sections. Collaborate with subject teachers across subjects to integrate Hindi language skills in project-based learning activities. Prepare students for Hindi competitions at inter-school and state-level events hosted in Bengaluru.
Guide the Hindi faculty on modern teaching aids, digital content, and assessment tools to enhance classroom engagement. Mentor 2-3 junior Hindi teachers through classroom observations and feedback sessions. Oversee the preparation of model answers and sample papers for board exam practice.
Coordinate with the academic coordinator to align Hindi syllabus with overall school academic calendar. Ensure timely completion of syllabus and submission of progress reports to parents during PTMs. Represent the Hindi department in inter-school academic forums and language workshops.
Eligibility
Postgraduate degree in Hindi with B.Ed from a recognized university. Minimum 5 years of teaching Hindi at the secondary level in a CBSE-affiliated school. NET or SET qualification in Hindi is preferred but not mandatory.
Proficiency in spoken and written Kannada is desirable for effective communication with local students and parents. Prior experience in leading a Hindi department or coordinating language activities will be an added advantage.
