About Rims International School | Kannur

When a child first steps through the gate at Varamkadavu, the buzz of a busy playground and the scent of freshly painted walls signal a new beginning. The early days are spent in a genuine Montessori setting where learning is hands‑on, and the teachers move quietly among the little ones, guiding them to discover shapes, colors and simple numbers through play. By the time the child moves into the primary section, the school’s rhythm has already set a comfortable routine: a mix of interactive smart‑board lessons, story time in the library arcade and occasional outings that turn the surrounding hills of Kannur into a living classroom.

As the years pass, the classrooms become larger, the subjects deeper, and the expectations clearer. In the middle school, teachers begin to introduce structured academic mentoring, a practice that feels personal because each teacher knows the strengths and gaps of the students they handle. From Grade VIII onward, the focus sharpens around competitive exams, and the school’s well‑equipped science and computer labs become places where students spend afternoons building models, coding simple programs or rehearsing for the next science exhibition. The teachers, many of whom have been with the school since its early days, balance rigorous CBSE syllabus work with moments that let curiosity take the lead, ensuring that a student who once struggled with fractions can now discuss the principles of electricity with confidence.

The senior secondary years bring the final stretch, and the school’s two streams—Science and Commerce—offer a clear pathway toward university aspirations. Here the modern multimedia smart classrooms feel like a bridge to the wider world; a teacher explains a complex chemical equation while a live video link shows a researcher in Delhi demonstrating the same concept. The library, now a hub for both quiet study and group projects, houses a collection that reflects both local history and global trends, reminding students that their roots in Kannur are part of a larger story.

Beyond the walls of RIMS International School, the institution has become a reference point for many families in Kannur who seek a CBSE education that
