TGT Dance Teacher Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced TGT Dance Teacher to join our esteemed faculty at our premium Tier 2 school. The ideal candidate will inspire students to excel in dance while maintaining high academic standards. This role requires a postgraduate qualification in dance education and at least 2 years of teaching experience. The TGT Dance Teacher will be responsible for developing students' technical skills, creativity, and appreciation for dance, contributing to both artistic and academic growth.

Primary Duties

Develop and deliver a structured dance curriculum aligned with national standards and school objectives.
Plan and conduct engaging dance classes for students in grades 6-8, focusing on technique, choreography, and performance skills.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning.
Organize and prepare students for school performances, competitions, and cultural events.
Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate dance education with academic subjects where applicable.
Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and discipline.
Keep accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.

Performance Expectations

Achieve a minimum of 90% student satisfaction in dance classes as measured by end-of-term feedback surveys.
Ensure at least 85% of students demonstrate measurable improvement in dance technique and performance skills within a term.
Prepare and mentor a student dance team that achieves top positions in at least one inter-school competition annually.
Maintain a 95% attendance rate in dance classes, with proactive measures to address absenteeism.
Contribute to the school’s academic results by integrating dance with subjects like history, culture, or physical education where relevant.
Receive positive feedback from parents and guardians on student progress and classroom engagement.

Preferred Skills

Strong background in classical, contemporary, or folk dance forms with proficiency in at least two styles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students of varying abilities.
Ability to choreograph original routines and adapt existing ones for school performances.
Familiarity with dance pedagogy and child development principles.
Proficiency in using technology for lesson planning, student assessment, and performance analysis.
