Deep Public School

When my son first started looking for a school in Shirol, the name Deep Public School kept coming up in every conversation we had with other parents. It’s been around since 2008, run by the Rajshree Foundations, and the whole place feels like a small community rather than a big, impersonal institution. The school follows the CBSE syllabus, so the curriculum is the same you’d find in Delhi or any major city, but the way they deliver it feels very much rooted in the local culture of Kolhapur. From play‑group all the way up to class ten, the emphasis is on understanding concepts rather than just memorising them, and they make sure English is the medium of instruction while still giving space for Marathi and Hindi when needed.

What impressed me most was the kind of teachers they have. Most of the faculty members have been trained at reputable teacher‑training institutes and many have several years of experience teaching in CBSE schools. They’re not just academically qualified; they’re genuinely interested in the kids’ overall growth. I’ve seen them stay after school to help a child who’s struggling with maths, and they also encourage projects that let the students explore science or literature in a hands‑on way. The teachers are approachable, and they keep parents in the loop with regular updates, which makes you feel involved without being overwhelmed.

Families here trust Deep Public School because it balances academic rigor with a caring environment. It’s a co‑educational day school, but they also have residential facilities for both boys and girls, which is a rare combination in this part of Maharashtra. The residential side is well‑maintained, and the staff look after the children like they would their own. Because the school is run by a foundation rather than a profit‑driven chain, there’s a sense that decisions are made with the children’s best interests at heart. Over the years, I’ve watched my daughter grow confident in her studies and develop friendships that go beyond the classroom, and that’s why I keep sending her back every year.
