Senior Science Department Role
Vidya Niketan International School is expanding its Science department and invites applications for the position of TGT Science Teacher in Kallam, Osmanabad. This is a senior role with potential to lead the department in the coming years. The school expects the incumbent to set benchmarks in Science teaching while supporting junior faculty and shaping board results.
What You Will Do
Own the Science curriculum from grades 6 to 10, aligning lessons with Maharashtra State Board standards. Design inquiry-based labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology topics suitable for rural and semi-urban students in Kallam. Mentor two to three junior Science teachers through weekly classroom observations and feedback sessions.
Prepare monthly question banks for half-yearly and annual exams, ensuring a mix of objective and subjective questions. Conduct parent-teacher meetings specifically to explain Science project expectations and exam patterns. Organize an annual Science exhibition where students from nearby schools in Osmanabad participate.
Collaborate with the Math and Social Science teams to integrate data analysis and environmental studies into cross-curricular projects. Introduce low-cost Science kits for hands-on experiments that can be replicated in resource-constrained classrooms. Lead the school’s participation in the National Science Olympiad at district and state levels.
Train students for inter-school Science debates, quizzes and model-making competitions held in Latur and nearby talukas. Document best practices in a department portfolio that can be shared with CBSE-affiliated schools across Maharashtra. Support the Vice Principal in compiling Science achievement reports for the management.
Eligibility Criteria
Post-graduate degree in Science with B.Ed from a recognized university. Minimum five years of teaching experience as TGT Science Teacher in Maharashtra schools. Maharashtra TET or CTET qualified candidates will be preferred during shortlisting.
Preference will be given to applicants who have taught Science in semi-urban settings similar to Kallam. Candidates with experience in Maharashtra State Board curriculum will be at an advantage. Fluency in Marathi and English is essential for classroom delivery and parent communication.

What You Get
