RESPONSIBILITIES
The accountant will manage day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and timely reconciliation of accounts.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory regulations.
Maintain cash flow records, oversee payroll processing, and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
Implement internal controls to safeguard institutional assets and prevent discrepancies.
Prepare budget proposals in collaboration with department heads, monitor expenditures, and report variances to senior management.
Handle tuition fee collection, scholarship disbursements, and other income streams, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
Manage vendor payments, maintain supplier records, and negotiate payment terms to optimize cash flow.
Assist in financial planning for new academic programs, infrastructure projects, and faculty development initiatives.
Support the finance team in preparing reports for the college board, regulatory bodies, and funding agencies.
Ensure adherence to the college’s financial policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities, capable of juggling multiple tasks.
Good communication skills to interact with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
