About Vikhe Patil Memorial School | Pune

When I first sent my daughter to Vikhe Patil Memorial School back in 2005, I was looking for a place that would give her a solid grounding in the CBSE curriculum without turning school into a pressure cooker. What I found in Patrakar Nagar, Gokhalenagar, was a campus that balances the rigour of mathematics, science and language studies with enough breathing space for curiosity to grow. You can see the difference in the way they explain a concept in class and then follow up with a simple exercise that reinforces it at home.

The school’s founding story matters too. Dr. Ashok Vikhe Patil set it up in memory of his grandfather, a man who built a cooperative movement from the ground up, and that spirit of community still runs through the daily routine. The staff, from the headmistress to the newest assistant, seem to share a belief that education is as much about character as it is about grades. They encourage students to take part in clean‑up drives, local cultural events and simple acts of kindness, which has helped my son develop a sense of responsibility that I rarely see in other schools.

What makes families keep coming back is the consistency. Over the years I’ve watched a steady stream of students move on to good engineering and medical colleges, and the school’s results have never been a surprise. Yet it’s not just the numbers; it’s the feeling that the school genuinely cares about each child’s wellbeing. Parents are welcomed to the school’s meetings, the teachers are open to discussing progress, and the environment feels safe enough that I can leave my kids there without worrying about anything beyond the homework they bring home.
