What You Will Do
Plan and deliver the full Political Science syllabus for Classes 11 and 12, ensuring coverage of NCERT and CBSE guidelines with special focus on Indian Constitution, Political Theory, and International Relations. Incorporate current affairs from Maharashtra and national politics to make lessons relevant and engaging for Thane students.
Prepare students for board exams and competitive entrance tests such as CLAT, CUET, and state-level political science scholarships through structured revision schedules and mock tests. Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide targeted interventions to improve performance.
Mentor junior Political Science teachers and trainee educators, sharing best practices in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement specific to the Goodwill International Foundation School environment. Organize departmental meetings to review syllabus completion and address common student difficulties.
Lead the selection and development of teaching resources, including textbooks, digital content, and reference materials suitable for Thane classrooms. Introduce innovative teaching methods such as debates, case studies, and project work to deepen understanding of political concepts.
Collaborate with the school’s career counseling team to guide students interested in law, civil services, and political science research toward appropriate higher education pathways. Represent the school in inter-school Political Science symposiums and inter-house competitions to build visibility and academic prestige.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and academic counseling sessions to communicate student progress and suggest home-based learning strategies. Contribute to the school’s annual academic calendar, exam schedules, and co-curricular planning related to Political Science.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Political Science or Public Administration from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks. B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory for this PGT Political Science Teacher role at Goodwill International Foundation School.
