When I first walked through the quiet lanes of Barnala and imagined a place where children could learn with curiosity and confidence, I knew a school was needed that would speak the language of our community while opening doors to the wider world. Mother Teacher School was born out of that vision in 2012, and over the years it has grown into a place where families from the town and surrounding villages trust us to guide their children through the CBSE curriculum. We are rooted in the rhythms of Punjab—its festivals, its fields, its stories—and we bring those experiences into the classroom so that learning never feels detached from everyday life.
Our school serves boys and girls from kindergarten through twelfth grade, many of whom are the first in their families to attend a formal school. We understand the hopes parents place in us, and we meet those expectations by maintaining small class sizes, regular assessments, and a staff that knows each student by name. The teachers are drawn from the region and have been trained to balance the rigorous standards of CBSE with the practical skills our students will need—whether that means a strong foundation in mathematics, clear communication in English, or the ability to think critically about the news on the radio.
Education at Mother Teacher School is about more than textbooks. We run science labs that let students experiment with simple chemical reactions, a library stocked with both classic literature and the latest reference books, and sports fields where cricket and kabaddi teach teamwork. We also encourage participation in local cultural programs, so students learn to play the dhol, perform bhangra, and respect the diverse traditions of Punjab. By the time they leave our campus, we aim for them to be confident learners, responsible citizens, and proud members of the Barnala community.
