Responsibilities
The Special Educator will design and oversee the implementation of individualized education plans for students with special needs, coordinating with parents, therapists, and support staff. The role includes maintaining detailed records, preparing reports for regulatory bodies, and acting as the primary liaison for external agencies and special education consultants.
You will also monitor classroom adaptations, assist in the procurement of assistive technology, and provide crisis intervention support when required. Regularly reviewing program effectiveness and presenting findings to the principal and school board are essential duties.
Requirements
A graduate degree in any discipline is mandatory; a B.Ed or D.El.Ed is preferred for understanding educational frameworks. Minimum three years of experience in special education administration or related support services is required. Knowledge of TET/CTET is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in maintaining confidential records, familiarity with Indian special education legislation, and experience in budget management are essential. Excellent communication skills in English and Punjabi are expected to interact effectively with parents and stakeholders.
Salary
The position offers a monthly remuneration of Rs.25,000 - Rs.35,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
