Baba Shaheed Singh Public School | Balian

Baba Shaheed Singh Public Senior Secondary School sits on the outskirts of Balian village in Sangrur, Punjab, and has been shaping young minds since 2003. The campus is a modest spread of well‑kept classrooms, a computer lab, a playground and a small auditorium where cultural events are held. Under the steady guidance of Principal Pervinder Kaur, the school runs on a clear schedule, and teachers find that the administration respects the need for both structure and flexibility. Daily routines are predictable, yet there is room for teachers to suggest new ideas, especially when they align with the school’s blend of modern academics and the values drawn from Guru Granth Sahib.

The student body is co‑educational and predominantly drawn from the surrounding villages and the town of Sangrur. Learners are generally eager, with many families placing great importance on English‑medium education as a pathway to wider opportunities. While the academic expectations follow the CBSE framework, the school also emphasizes computer literacy and physical fitness, so teachers often see students juggling textbook work, coding exercises and sports practice. The community is close‑knit; parents attend school functions, and festivals are celebrated with a mix of traditional Punjabi music and school performances, creating a vibrant atmosphere that extends beyond the classroom.

In the classroom, the focus is on delivering the CBSE syllabus with clarity while encouraging curiosity. Lessons are expected to be interactive, and teachers are encouraged to incorporate project‑based learning, especially in science and mathematics. The school’s commitment to Indian art and culture means that language teachers often integrate poetry and folk stories, and history teachers find space to discuss regional heritage alongside the national narrative. Resources are adequate for day‑to‑day teaching, and the computer lab is regularly updated, allowing for integration of digital tools without overwhelming the staff.

A teacher who enjoys a balanced routine, values community involvement, and is comfortable weaving cultural references into standard curricula will feel at home here. Those who are patient, open to collaborative planning, and willing to mentor students in both academic and moral development will find the environment supportive. If you appreciate a workplace where leadership listens, where students are motivated to learn, and where the rhythm of village life blends with the demands of a CBSE school, Baba Shaheed Singh Public School offers a place to grow as an educator while contributing to the future of Sangrur’s youth.
