PGT Botany Teacher

Professional Scope
The PGT Botany Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that align with the state curriculum, while incorporating modern pedagogical techniques. The position involves mentoring junior faculty, coordinating laboratory activities, and contributing to curriculum development. The teacher will also participate in school events, science fairs, and community outreach programs that promote environmental awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present clear, interactive lectures on Botany, covering topics from cellular biology to plant ecology.
- Conduct laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols and effective use of plant specimens and equipment.
- Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary projects, such as linking Botany with Environmental Science or Geography.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress, and report to the head of department regularly.
Subject‑Specific Duties
- Develop practical modules that allow students to observe plant morphology, photosynthesis, and plant physiology firsthand.
- Update teaching materials to reflect recent scientific developments and local ecological issues.
- Guide students in field trips to nearby botanical gardens or farms, enhancing experiential learning.
- Encourage participation in science competitions, ensuring students are well prepared to showcase their knowledge.
