Role Summary

Day-to-Day Duties
The ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR General Medicine Teacher will deliver lectures, conduct tutorials, and supervise practical sessions for MBBS and MD students at Jaipur National University. Responsibilities include preparing course materials, designing lesson plans, and assessing student performance through internal assessments and viva voce examinations. The role also involves organizing clinical postings at affiliated hospitals and ensuring adherence to the university’s academic calendar and curriculum guidelines.
Regular participation in departmental meetings, faculty development programs, and inter-departmental collaborations is expected. The teacher will also be involved in curriculum review and implementation of competency-based medical education as per NMC guidelines. Administrative duties such as invigilation, paper setting, and result moderation are part of the role.
Postgraduate Students
Supervision of MD General Medicine students is a core responsibility. The ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR will guide postgraduate trainees in clinical case discussions, journal clubs, and dissertation work. Mentoring students in research methodology, ethical conduct, and manuscript preparation for publication is essential. The teacher will also coordinate with the university’s research cell to promote research culture among postgraduate students.
Encouraging students to present papers at national conferences and participate in workshops is part of the mentorship role. The selected candidate will also assist in organizing CME programs and guest lectures by eminent physicians to enhance learning experiences.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in General Medicine with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university. A valid NET/SLET qualification is mandatory if the Ph.D. is not completed. At least 3 years of teaching experience in General Medicine at a medical college or university is required.
Candidates should have published research papers in peer-reviewed journals indexed in PubMed or Scopus. Active participation in national or international conferences as a speaker or presenter is desirable. Familiarity with NMC regulations and UGC norms for medical education is necessary.
