Key Responsibilities
The Associate Professor Psychiatry Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, seminars, and clinical demonstrations to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Conducting independent and collaborative research in psychiatric disorders, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and securing research grants from national funding agencies like ICMR and DBT are expected. The role also involves guiding Ph.D. scholars in their thesis work and serving as an internal examiner for doctoral defenses.
Additional responsibilities include mentoring junior faculty, participating in departmental administrative tasks, and contributing to the university’s outreach programs in mental health awareness. The Associate Professor will also represent Jaipur National University at academic forums and medical conferences.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Psychiatry from a recognized university, with at least three years of post-doctoral teaching or research experience in a medical college or university. Candidates with a background in clinical psychiatry and prior experience in academic leadership will be given preference.
A valid UGC-NET with JRF qualification is mandatory if the Ph.D. is not completed. Publications in reputed journals and evidence of securing extramural research grants will be considered advantageous. The candidate should also hold a valid MCI/NMC registration certificate.
Academic Projects
Jaipur National University encourages faculty to lead and participate in interdisciplinary research projects. Current initiatives include studies on the prevalence of mental health disorders in Rajasthan’s rural and urban populations, funded by state and central agencies.
The university provides seed funding for innovative research proposals, with additional support available through collaborations with the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Department of Science and Technology. Faculty are expected to publish at least two research papers annually in Scopus-indexed or UGC-CARE-listed journals.
Doctoral Guidance
The Associate Professor will guide doctoral students in formulating research proposals, conducting literature reviews, and designing empirical studies. Regular progress reviews and feedback sessions will ensure timely completion of theses.

Salary and Benefits
