Day-to-Day Duties
Teach postgraduate MD Emergency Medicine students in advanced resuscitation, disaster medicine, and toxicology modules. Conduct weekly bedside teaching rounds in the university’s tertiary care hospital attached to Jaipur National University. Deliver lectures on pediatric emergencies, geriatric trauma, and critical care transport systems.
Lead monthly journal clubs focused on high-impact publications from NEJM and Lancet Emergency Medicine. Supervise three to five MD dissertations each year in areas such as sepsis protocols and point-of-care ultrasound applications. Organize simulation-based training sessions for MBBS interns and MD residents.
Participate in university-wide curriculum revision committees for emergency care competencies. Contribute to the development of competency-based assessment tools aligned with global emergency medicine standards. Present departmental research updates at quarterly faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Emergency Medicine or a related clinical specialty is mandatory for this Professor position at Jaipur National University. Candidates with post-doctoral research experience in emergency systems or critical care outcomes will receive preference. UGC-NET with Junior Research Fellowship is essential if PhD is not yet completed.
Minimum of two years of post-MD teaching experience in an Indian medical college recognized by NMC is required. Preference will be given to candidates with formal training in simulation education or disaster medicine certification. Familiarity with CBME curriculum design as per NMC guidelines is desirable.
Academic Projects
Guide funded research projects under ICMR or DBT schemes in emergency airway management and mass casualty triage. Jaipur National University encourages cross-departmental projects with Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine for injury prevention studies. Collaborate with Rajasthan State Health Department on emergency transport time reduction initiatives.
Publish original research in Scopus-indexed journals with emphasis on Indian emergency care challenges. Encourage residents to co-author papers and present findings at national conferences like IMAICON. Secure intramural grants from Jaipur National University for pilot studies on pre-hospital ECG transmission.
Research Leadership
Supervise doctoral scholars pursuing PhD in Emergency Medicine under Jaipur National University’s structured programme. Serve as internal examiner for PhD vivas and external examiner for universities across Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Mentor junior faculty for their first independent research grants.
Conduct thesis progress reviews every six months and ensure timely completion within university norms. Facilitate interdisciplinary research with departments such as Cardiology and Neurology for stroke and MI pathway optimization. Organize annual research methodology workshops for faculty and residents.
