About This Role
Jaipur National University’s Department of Radiology is expanding its academic and research footprint. The department maintains strong collaborations with AIIMS, SMS Medical College, and other premier institutions across North India. Known for its high-impact publications in abdominal imaging, neuro-radiology, and interventional radiology, the department attracts research funding from ICMR, DST, and BRNS.
Day-to-Day Duties
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in Radiology, covering conventional radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and interventional techniques. Prepare detailed lesson plans aligned with university syllabi and incorporate case-based learning. Conduct weekly seminars where students present rare radiological cases from local hospitals.
Engage in independent and collaborative research projects focusing on early cancer detection, trauma imaging, and AI-assisted diagnostics. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and PubMed. Attend national conferences such as the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA) annual meet to present research.
Guide junior residents and interns during clinical postings at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, a tertiary care centre affiliated with Jaipur National University. Organise monthly journal clubs where faculty and students critically appraise recent papers. Assist in writing grant proposals for extramural funding from ICMR, DBT, and SERB.
Eligibility Criteria
A postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in Radiology from an institution recognised by NMC/MCI is mandatory. A Ph.D. in Radiology or a related discipline is preferred, especially for those aspiring to long-term academic roles. Candidates with UGC-NET with JRF or CSIR-NET qualification will be given preference during selection.
Minimum two years of clinical teaching experience in a medical college or university department is required. Exposure to research methodology, biostatistics, and academic writing is essential. Fluency in Hindi and English is necessary for effective communication with students and patients.
Research & Publications
Lead or participate in multi-centre studies on paediatric imaging, cardiac MRI, or musculoskeletal radiology with partner institutions. Jaipur National University provides seed grants of up to Rs.3,00,000 for pilot projects in diagnostic radiology. Collaborate with the Department of Computer Science for AI-based image analysis projects.
Publish a minimum of two research papers annually in journals with impact factor above 2.0. Present research at national and international conferences such as RSNA, ECR, or IRIA. Supervise short-term research projects for senior residents and final-year MBBS students.
Ph.D. Supervision
Guide doctoral students enrolled in the Ph.D. programme in Radiology at Jaipur National University. Assist in designing research protocols, ethical clearances, and data collection phases. Evaluate doctoral theses and serve on the research advisory committee.

A consolidated monthly salary ranging between Rs.90,000 and Rs.150,000 as per UGC norms for Senior Resident positions.
