Job Description
Scope of the Role
The PGT Botany teacher at Amar Sr Sec School designs and delivers comprehensive Botany lessons for classes 9 to 12, integrating field studies, laboratory work, and practical experiments. Daily activities include preparing lesson plans, conducting classroom instruction, and supervising student projects on plant biology and ecology.
Core Academic Duties
Teaching core Botany concepts such as plant anatomy, physiology, taxonomy, and environmental science. Facilitating laboratory sessions where students dissect specimens, observe microscopic structures, and record observations. Coordinating field visits to local botanical gardens and agricultural sites to provide real‑world context. Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Assessment and Planning Duties
Preparing and grading assignments, quizzes, and examinations that align with the state curriculum. Analyzing student performance to identify learning gaps and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly. Collaborating with fellow teachers to integrate interdisciplinary projects that enhance scientific understanding.
Qualification and Experience
Post‑graduate degree in Botany or related field required. B.Ed or D.El.Ed mandatory for teaching positions; TET/CTET preferred but not mandatory. Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting. Strong knowledge of current Botany curricula and laboratory techniques.
Salary and Location
